In March 2001, the public schools in Antrim, Benzie, Grand Traverse, Kalkaska and Leelanau counties participated in the Search Institute's Profiles of Student Life Survey.

Over 4,500 students, grades 7, 9 and 11, participated in this survey. The results below summarize the extent to which youth in our region experience each of these assets.

Of the 40 assets youth need to grow and thrive, the 2001 Asset Survey shows us that our youth in our region have an average of 18.7 assets.
