Every person and every organization in our community can help support kids.

The GivEm 40 Coalition now involves hundreds (maybe thousands!) of people who are promoting healthy youth development in Northwest Michigan. Several key partner organizations have supported the efforts of the GivEm 40 Coalition since its inception in 1999.

The Coalition was founded by our region's three major funders: Rotary Charities of Traverse City, the Grand Traverse Regional Community Foundation and its Youth Advisory Councils (YACs), and United Way of Northwest Michigan. The Coalition is coordinated by United Way.

The Traverse Bay Area Intermediate School District plays a key role in supporting the asset-building work in the schools. The consortium of superintendents in our region have made asset-building one of their top common goal areas for area schools.

GivEm 40's research and evaluation partners come from Michigan State University's Outreach Partnerships. Their support is possible through a grant from MSU's F.A.C.T. (Families and Communities Together) Coalition.

As a grassroots initiative, the work of the GivEm 40 Coalition makes its impact when youth feel valued and supported by their community. Numerous organizations and individuals throughout our region "GivEm 40" every day. They represent such diverse sectors as:

  • Service clubs

  • Media

  • Law enforcement

  • Businesses & chambers of commerce

  • Youth leadership organizations

  • Youth serving agencies

  • Human services collaborating bodies

  • Elected officials

  • Parent organizations

The Coalition is in the process of more formally recognizing and officially celebrating all partners--the countless community organizations, businesses and private citizens committed to our shared vision. In the meantime, we invite you to partner with us informally by sharing our vision to "GivEm 40 - 24 - 7!"
